This is a real shave cream where a little goes a long way. It gave me a smooth shave and my skin felt soft and moisturized afterward. It has a refreshing scent and leaves just a bit of a tingle after the shave is over. I also like that it is cruelty free, made in the USA and earth friendly. Overall, an excellent shave cream.
I use shaving cream like this all the time. This particular brand does not get lathered up very well which I tend to like. It does make the razor glide nicely despite this. I think because it is an all-in-one it leaves a slick feeling after you rinse. That's not a bad thing but it is different for me. I did not notice any type of scent to it which is fine. It does the job so I'm happy with it.
I've had the opportunity to try a few of these non-aerosol shaving creams and this one is the best (even though a couple cost a lot more). Unlike one of the reviewers this did not "cook" my skin.PROS:Makes for a close shave.Razor glides smoothly.Wonderful mild scent.Scent doesn't linger after rinsing.Has a cooling effect (probably due to the eucalyptus.Does not lather because it's not that type.Rinses off easily.Doesn't cake up razor.Stands up on lid.Face feels great.CONS:Still more expensive over Edge Gel.Overall a great shaving cream. Perfect for travel.
The first thing that caught my eye here is the scent. It smells like a herbal toothpaste. it is white with a pearl sheen to it. It is not typical for a shaving cream, but it was a pleasant surprise. The bottle comes with a safety seal for freshness. In use it goes only like a creamy paste and is a little chunkier in the blade of the razer than a chemical foam, but it wasn't an issue for Mach 3 blades. You may have more of an issue with razer blades with closed backs since there is no water pass through between the blades. I typically have some discomfort with your run of the mill foams and gels via slight razor burn. That is not the case here. I have absolutely no irritation. I did not even use an after shave since I didn't feel I needed. Great product but about 4-6 times more expensive for a can of foam.
having this product have hemp in it and having it state that it is 97% natural is like saying that you are almost a man...or almost have your freedom...just does not mean that much ...and in this case..just stands as buzz words to get you all to try this product. As a shaving product, it is alright...nothing more...it has an odd smell...that my nose starts to itch over during the course of my shave. The product is not quite thick enough to stay in place or feel rich and comforting. I have no idea what the hemp is supposed to do for me accept maybe provide that odd smell. The product does allow for me to shave close and relatively smoothly...though I would not charactorize the product as anything close to a sensitive skin product as it does not offer up that much protection. I also noticed that it it hard to get the smelly stuff rinsed off unless you want to use soap...which just dries up your skin again. So...EHHH...
I saw this and liked the branding and the charitable donations the company makes and thought I'd give it a try. I tired it twice to make sure I had a good base to judge it on. First up was in a shave bowl using a brush and a double edged safety razor. I struggled to get a good lather at all. The cream is thick, but I just couldn't get a good whip or lather on it. That's not necessarily a bad thing, it just helps and what I'm used to. The second time was in the shower and just covering my face with my hand. This time I got more lather. Both shaves were good and smooth. I don't really have sensitive skin, so I didn't think it was any better than my normal cream (canned). The smell is peppermint and menthol. I'm not a huge fan of menthol in after shaves. It worked though in this. The smell is strong when shaving, but when I clean off, the smell is all but gone and I used after shave. So, what do we have here - it didn't lather well, smelled good, produced a smooth shave, but is a weak aftershave - a mixed bag, but nothing was a deal breaker for me. That being the case, I could recommend this, but just know it's weaknesses (based on my preferences).
The shaving cream is really good quality. Even if you're using disposable razors he should get a decent shave using this type of cream. I use a butterfly razor and got a very close shave using this cream. No Nicks or cuts and my skin was smooth and toned afterwards. There is a scent but it doesn't seem to linger too long. No complaints so no reason not to give it five stars. I hope you found this review helpful:-)
This product is pretty great. I like the 3 in 1 idea of combining shaving cream, after shave, and moisturizer to simplify the process and reduce clutter on the bathroom countertop. Also a great idea of a product to have while traveling too. It is effective but my face/skin is particularly sensitive and I still need some moisturizer even after using this while shaving. It isn't a bad product though and I have no complaints. Overall I'd recommend it.
This is a 5.9 fluid ounce tube of shave cream that is not tested on animals, is vegan, has no harsh chemicals, and the company sends a portion of all proceeds from the sale of this product to the preservation of elephants--hence the name of the product --> Dr. Tusk.Although I know this is specifically geared for men, I use men's products and love to try shave creams. I wanted to love this shave cream but I do not and it is only because it is very difficult to wash it out of my razor. The cream is pearlized and reminds me of Noxema and spreads like that as well.LIKES- It smells great- I love the tingle on my face- It left the areas of my face that I shave very smooth and moisturizedDISLIKES- After spreading this on my face, it does not foam like shave cream but instead starts to disappear. Therefore, where there was white cream originally, it quickly becomes hard to see where I put the shave cream.- It was almost impossible to rinse out of my razor. I had to use very hot and strongly gushing water for about two minutes to remove the cream from between the blades. I almost thought I was going to have to throw the razor out. I remember trying a shave cream last year where I actually did have to through my razor out after first use. This cream is a little better than that one because I did eventually get the razor clean. However, it requires diligence and patience. In summary, I would have given this cream 5 stars if it washed off the razor easily. I also feel the current price of $8.49 is pricey. They definitely are supporting a good cause that I am passionate about but I always personally believed that people should donate directly to organizations they love and not through the purchase of a product. This way one always knows exactly what "portion" is actually going to the cause.PS The package says this is made with dragon's blood. When I looked up what that was, it seems like that is a bright red resin that is obtained from several species of plants.
This has a great scent (menthol); it feels good on the skin even though it's not that thick. I've used it a couple of times, and I really like how cool my skin feels after shaving with this. As an aftershave, I would say no. This has no lasting effect or scent. So two out of three is not bad for this. Like I said, the menthol does wonders when shaving. Depending on how thick your beard is, you don't need much of this (doesn't really make loads of lather).
